Too Young for Kindergarten? Tide Turning Against 4-Year-Olds

  1. This article really makes you think about the age in which a child should begin kindergarten. Based on the articles that I have read and my personal experience in working in prekindergarten programs, I do not feel that children at the age of four are developmentally or emotionally ready for kindergarten. However, I do highly recommend placing them in a prekindergarten program. Some children that are five years old have issues emotionally and developmentally beginning kindergarten so four year old children definitely aren't going to be ready.
